Our team members are what sets us apart. The ones who make it possible for us to continue furthering our mission to make hedging easy, affordable, and accessible for everyone.
And they’re what makes ALT21 such a great place to work, too. Which is why we’re always on the lookout for enthusiastic and smart people to join us.
Over the past few months, we struck very lucky and managed to bring three extremely talented people on board.
Let’s hear it for Michael McMullan, Diana Mougharbel, and Chetna Jha.
Having worked at Tier 1 banks for over a decade — including a three-year stint as global product owner in HSBC’s FX operations — Michael has been there, done that, and got several T-shirts to prove it when it comes to FX.
But 13+ years into his career, he’s still hungry to make a difference. So much so, that it was his desire to do something ‘big and worthwhile‘ — his words, not ours — that persuaded him to join ALT21.
‘I couldn’t say “No” to the opportunity to put my own stamp on things,’ he says. ‘I’m very much looking forward to helping ALT21 grow. And I hope to lead by example, through my own actions, values, and behaviour.‘
Michael’s role as operations lead has fit him like a glove. Three months in, he’s already been instrumental in helping some exciting new projects gain momentum. His can-do attitude and supportive nature have also endeared him to the team.
With a 2:1 degree in politics, and a payments superhero as payment operations team lead at Bulb during what arguably was — and still is — the toughest time in living memory for the energy sector, Diana‘s relationship-building skills are second to none.
So, when we heard she was looking for a new role, we couldn’t pass up the chance to bring her on board as a client relations manager.
Diana’s job is to ensure everyone at ALT21 is obsessed with delivering the best level of experience for our partners. That means liaise with our customers, as well as sales, operations, and compliance to make sure everything is working and that we are making ourselves better than the rest. She’s working closely with the product and tech teams to implement changes to our hedging platform X-Hedge based on our customer’s feedback.
‘ALT21 caught my eye because of the team’s obsession with the customer, and the values and culture, and it hasn’t disappointed me,’ says Diana. ‘I’m thrilled to be part of the team that wants to make a difference and looking forward to working on exciting new projects.‘
Chetna is a Salesforce guru with sky-high standards and a ruthless eye for detail — all qualities that have come in extremely handy since she joined us as a quality assurance engineer.
Over the past 6 months, Chetna has been tracking down, isolating, and squashing software bugs with relentless determination, and working hard to make sure our products exceed our customers’ expectations.
She’s also a great motivator, always there to offer help and a word of encouragement whenever the going gets tough.
‘I really like the work culture here,’ Chetna says. ‘People are very welcoming and I felt comfortable right off the bat. I’m also learning loads and really enjoying using my skills to ensure these amazing products are the best they can be.’
